Thinly sliced potatoes layered with creamy cheese sauce create the perfect rich and comforting side dish for family dinners and holidays.
Ingredients
- 5 large potatoes, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Butter the inside of a Simmer Down Cookware Dutch oven.
Layer half the potatoes in the Dutch oven.
In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour.
Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened.
Stir in cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper.
Pour half the sauce over the potatoes.
Repeat layers with remaining potatoes and sauce.
Cover and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
Remove lid and bake another 20–25 minutes until golden and tender.
