Garlic Butter Green Beans

Fresh green beans, crispy bacon, butter, and sautéed onions create a classic comforting side dish that pairs beautifully with hearty meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1–2 tablespoons diced onion
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a Simmer Down Cookware Dutch oven or skillet over medium heat until crisp.
  2. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving a small amount of bacon drippings in the pan.
  3. Add diced onion and cook until softened and lightly golden.
  4. Add green beans and a small splash of water.
  5. Cover and cook until tender-crisp, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in butter and cooked bacon.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Serve warm.
