Southern Creamed Corn

Sweet corn in a rich creamy sauce makes this comforting side dish perfect alongside barbecue, pot roast, or holiday meals.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups corn kernels
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Fresh chopped parsley or chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a Simmer Down Cookware Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add corn and cook for several minutes until warmed through.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the corn and stir well.
  4. Slowly pour in cream and cook until thickened and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Top with crumbled bacon and fresh parsley or chives if desired.
  7. Serve warm.
