Southern Coleslaw

Cool, creamy, and slightly sweet, this classic coleslaw adds the perfect fresh balance to rich comfort-food meals.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery seed (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Add green cabbage, purple cabbage, and carrots to a large serving bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, celery seed, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour dressing over cabbage mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
  • Toss again before serving.
